Closing Procedures TO: Faculty and StaffFROM: Lara Conklin, Marketing & College Relations DATE: December 15, 2010 RE: Closing Procedures – DACC DACC Weather Closing Procedures: Every effort is made to anticipate inclement weather and other extraordinary events that would necessitate the College to be closed. Employees are encouraged to monitor the DACC website (http://www.dacc.edu), check their DACC email account, and register for the Emergency Text Message Alert System** for the fastest and most reliable information. As an alternative, employees should listen to area radio and TV stations* for communication regarding these events. In the event of severe weather conditions, an announcement will be made that, “Classes are canceled. College is closed.” In the event that staff members are to report to work, or that the college will open at a later time, the media will be notified that, “Classes are canceled, but offices will be open.” In the event the COLLEGE IS CLOSED during the school day, all students and employees may go home. In the event CLASSES ARE CANCELED, students may leave but College offices will continue with their regular hours. *Area Media: RadioWDNL 102 FM WIXY 100.3 FM WILL 90.9/580 AM WDAN 1490 AM WLRW 94.5 FM WGFA 941 FM WRHK 94.9 FM WCFF 92.5 FM WHPO 100.9 FM WITY 980 AM WDWS 1400 AM WKZS 103.1 FM WXTT 99.1 FM WHMS 97.5 FM TV Channel 2 – Terre Haute WCIA—Channel 3 Channel 10 – Terre Haute WICD—Channel 15 Announcements will be posted on the college FaceBook and Twitter pages, as well. **Please note that users must enroll with the text message alert system each school year: |
